The correct temperature is very important for reptiles. Many reptiles come from areas with different living conditions than ours, mostly where it is warmer than here. Reptiles are ecothermic, which means they cannot maintain their own body temperature: therefore, for almost all reptiles, it is important to provide supplemental heating in the terrarium. With these Trixie lamps, you can easily create a so-called 'hotspot': this is the warmest place in the terrarium where your animal will enjoy sunbathing. This lamp heats through a combination of infrared radiation and UVA radiation. Infrared radiation supports thermoregulation and digestion, and UVA stimulates natural behavior and appetite. This combination ensures a correct ambient temperature in the terrarium.
