Kitten in the 1st growth phase
The young kitten must now switch from mother's milk to solid food. This is called weaning. This sensitive growth period often leads to digestive problems. The kitten slowly loses its ability to digest lactose, which can lead to poor stool.

Milk teeth grow from 2-3 weeks to 2 months of age.

The resistance kittens received from their mother gradually decreases. This is while the kittens' own immune system is not yet fully developed.
